Privacy Policy

Holding Tracker helps you organize your investment holdings and transactions. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Effective August 28, 2026

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Holding Tracker, we may collect the following information:

  • Account information: your email address and, if you provide it, your time zone.
  • Portfolio information: portfolios, holdings, transactions, dividends, splits, comments, currencies, and related settings that you enter or import.
  • Feedback information: bug reports, feature requests, replies, and technical context such as the page path, browser, and viewport that accompany a submission.
  • Authentication and security information: login-session identifiers, CAPTCHA information when required, and limited request information used to prevent abuse and protect the service.
  • Technical information: information that your browser or device sends to our service as part of making a request, such as IP address, request time, and basic browser or operating-system details in server logs.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide, maintain, and secure Holding Tracker; authenticate your account; send one-time login codes; calculate and display portfolio information; respond to support requests; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose errors; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

If you allow a feedback item to be public and an administrator publishes it, the item and its conversation may be visible to anyone. Public feedback uses an opaque member alias instead of your email address. Do not include passwords, one-time codes, account numbers, or unnecessary financial information in feedback.

We do not use your portfolio data to provide personalized advertising. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

3. Service providers and information sharing

We may share the minimum information needed with service providers that help us operate Holding Tracker. For example, your email address may be sent to our email delivery provider when you request a one-time login code. We may also use infrastructure, caching, security, market-data, and exchange-rate providers to operate features you request.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or other business transfer. We do not share your portfolio information with financial institutions or investment advisers, and Holding Tracker does not execute trades.

4. Cookies and local storage

Holding Tracker uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to support security features such as CAPTCHA. These cookies are necessary for account functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

The site also loads certain interface libraries from third-party content-delivery networks. Those providers may receive your IP address and request metadata when your browser retrieves those resources. You can block third-party resources in your browser, although some site features or presentation may be affected.

5. Data retention and security

We retain account and portfolio information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Temporary login codes and CAPTCHA records are designed to expire after a short period; login sessions remain until they expire or are signed out or revoked.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices

You may access and update information through the settings and portfolio features available in the service. You may stop using the service at any time. To request account deletion or ask about personal information that is not accessible in the app, contact us using the support contact associated with your Holding Tracker account or App Store listing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

7. Children’s privacy

Holding Tracker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. Your continued use of Holding Tracker after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the service.

9. Contact

If you have a privacy question or request, please use the support contact published with the Holding Tracker app or your account. Include enough detail for us to understand your request, but do not send passwords, one-time codes, or unnecessary financial information.

Important: Holding Tracker is a record-keeping and portfolio-tracking tool, not a broker, investment adviser, or tax adviser. Do not use it as a substitute for professional financial or tax advice.
